1Q 2021: Montenegro’s GDP decline 6.4%

Montenegro’s GDP decline 6.4% in 1Q 2021 The real GDP growth rate in the first quarter was -6.4 percent, the National Statistics Office announced. According to Eurostat data, the quarterly decline in Montenegrin GDP is the largest in Europe. The highest real GDP growth rate in the first quarter in Europe was registered in Ireland (11.8 percent). They are followed by Turkey (seven percent), Estonia (5.4 percent) and Luxembourg (five percent). The real GDP growth rate of more than one percent was recorded by Serbia (1.7 percent), Slovenia (1.6 percent), France (1.5 percent) and Lithuania (1.2 percent). After Montenegro, the largest quarterly decline in GDP was registered in Portugal (5.7 percent), Austria (5.5 percent), Spain (4.6 percent) and Germany (3.4 percent).
