The Institute for Public Health has proposed to the National Coordination Body, the implementation of additional measures that are currently appropriate to the situation and the epidemiological level of risk of virus import and spread among the population of Montenegro.
On the basis of the conclusions of the National Coordination Body, the Ministry of Health issued an order on the entry into force of the proposed measures, such as travel ban to the most affected areas and countries, which currently includes Italy, Spain, South Korea, Iran and China /Hubei province.
The list of countries where travel is prohibited is not conclusive and it will change, as the epidemiological situation changes.
In line with the Law on Foreigners, a temporary measure of prohibition of entry into Montenegro is introduced, while there is a risk of introducing a contagious disease into the country, to foreign nationals coming from Italy, Spain, South Korea, Iran and China – Hubei province.
The list of countries temporarily banned from coming is not conclusive and will change in line with the epidemiological situation.
Citizens of Montenegro who happened to be in transit and are returnees from Italy, Spain, South Korea, Iran, China – Hubei province shall be placed in home isolation, under the active supervision and restriction of the right of movement, which includes accommodation in the family facility for a period of 14 days and monitoring of the state of health by the competent epidemiological service. All family members affected by the household, will be subject to the same measures. Non-compliance with this measure is subject to legal liability.
Arranging of all pupils and student groups – excursions, excursions, educational meetings, etc. abroad is postponed.
The decision was made to ban the holding of sports events with an audience. Thus, sporting events, national and international, will be held without the presence of the audience. The eventual arrival of teams, from the most affected areas, is postponed until further notice.
The decision was made to enforce tighter border controls on passengers in international traffic, coming from countries that currently have registered cases, without the widely established local coronavirus COVID-19 transmission.
