CORONAVIRUS Montenegro National Coordination Body for Communicable Diseases adopts new measure: Self-isolation is extended for 14 days

The National Coordination Body for Communicable Diseases has adopted, in order to prevent the spread of coronavirus and protect the health and lives of citizens, a temporary measure under which:
1) For persons who, have been assigned a measure of self-isolation (in a family accommodation or other facility), based on the decision of the Health – Sanitary Inspection, after 14 days of self-isolation, self-isolation is extended for another 14 days;
2) Persons who have been quarantined by a decision of the sanitary inspection (in a facility designated by the Government of Montenegro for quarantine) and did not have symptoms of the novel coronavirus during the quarantine, shall be placed after self-isolation in the family quarantine accommodation for 14 days. The transport of these persons to family accommodation, will be carried out in line with the prescribed measures for prevention of coronavirus infection;
3) Self-isolation of persons (in a family accommodation or other facility), who have been in contact or are suspected to have been in contact with persons suffering from the novel coronavirus and who did not have symptoms of this disease, shall be extended by a decision of the Health – Sanitary Inspection for 14 days.
The National Coordination Body accepted epidemiologist reasoning that the incubation period of the novel coronavirus could be longer than 14 days, and that there are asymptomatic cases, which is why extending of self-isolation is the only real way to protect the health of self-isolating citizens, their families and all citizens of Montenegro.
