The EU Ecolabel helps customers identifying products and services that have a reduced environmental impact throughout their life cycle, from the extraction of raw material through to production, use and disposal. Recognized throughout Europe, EU Ecolabel is a voluntary label promoting environmental excellence which can be trusted.
Every product and service placed on the market in the European Economic Area (European Union plus Iceland, Lichtenstein and Norway) that meets the EU Ecolabel criteria set for that product or service category can be awarded the EU Ecolabel. Criteria are currently established for a wide range of non-food and non-medical product groups, including detergents, paper towel rolls, laptops, clothing and tourist accommodation services.
In each country participating in the EU Ecolabel, a national Competent Body is available to give advice on questions about your company’s EU Ecolabel application. As a prospective applicant, you should get in contact with the Competent Body from the country where you manufacture your product, or in the country where your services are located. If you do not produce goods or services in any of the countries below, choose a Competent Body from one of the countries of the European Economic Area where your product or service is placed on the market.
EU Ecolabel products and services (over 37,000) can be sold and marketed worldwide. They are especially targeted at EEA states (EU member states plus Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway).
