meCrnogorskienEnglish available languages

The World Economic Forum has published 2019 edition of Global Competitiveness report. Montenegro was placed 73rd out of 141 economies. In comparison to the previous report which assessed 140 economies, Montenegro dropped for two positions (2018 ranking 71/140).

According to national performances, Montenegro is assessed the best in the field of labor market, where it takes the 26th position globally. On the other hand, macroeconomic stability was ranked 104/141. In that section, Montenegro showed worse performances if compared to the previous year. It has even worse global position in the parameter “market size” , 134th. However, that parameter is considered fixed, because it literally means the area within the national borders. Despite that factor, Singapore is ranked among first markets for ages although it is one of the smallest states in the world.

By analyzing this report, we have concluded that Montenegro recorded a progress within the National Authorities, IT sector, healthcare, key compentences of the citizens, goods market, financial system or business dynamics factors. Regression of the macroeconomics stability performances and strengthening of other economies caused Montenegro to be placed 2 positions down if compared to the previous year.
